The Work Practice of Alex Borisenko
I’m a Creative Director and Designer based in New York, and have spent the last thirteen years helping to bring brands to life through strategic design.
I don’t like fluff or clutter; I aim to make things that resonate with people using an executional style which is honest and direct. In a digital context that means working to overcome the default distance, half-life, and impersonal nature of interactions, in order to create things that are able to sit comfortably in their digital skin whilst still being able to connect deeply with their audience. The result is something that often leans minimal in appearance, but is filled with nuance and care in all the right places.

I’m a Product Manager and Entrepreneur based in Yerevan, and have spent the last 8 years bringing web and mobile apps to life.
I dislike fluff and clutter and instead want to create things that have an emotional impact on those who use them through execution that is straightforward and honest. In a product development setting, this entails attempting to get over the interactions' inherent half-lives, impersonality, and distance in order to produce tools that can coexist peacefully in the digital realm while yet being able to forge close connections with their target audiences. The end result frequently has a simple aesthetic but is carefully thought out and nuanced in all the appropriate areas.
No matter what is being developed, I think it's essential to never lose sight of the value it brings and the problems it solves. Every detail and decision in a design must be woven with the message and its context. The user's context. What message should be communicated when, where, and how many words should be used. Which color palette should fit the time and place when the product is actively used. Each feature must be delivered with purpose so that when everything is stacked on top of one another it is turned into a coherent journey.
